Welcome to the South Asian Women and Girls Conference 2019 web page. Loyola University Chicago, School of Social Work will be hosting yet another South Asian Women and Girls academic conference. This year our focus is Roles and Relationships of Working Women Belonging to South Asia. We welcome papers from emerging scholars – undergraduates thesis, Master Level Research Papers, Ph.D. students research work and accomplished academics. We hope this platform will help support the work from students and showcase scholarship and research focused on this diverse population.
This conference will also be celebrating the introduction of Loyola’s new Certificate Program: Working with Women: South Asian Women & Girls. The content of this certificate will enable training within the core Jesuit identity of Loyola University Chicago to empower and advocate for marginalized people globally and locally. Loyola’s School of Social work and Women and Gender Studies are thrilled to add this into our curriculum and are honored to share this news with you.
